Obituary of Goldie Hazel Romkey

Romkey, Goldie Hazel - Age 100, West LaHave, passed away peacefully with family by her side on April 13, 2018 in the South Shore Regional Hospital. Born in West Dublin, she was a daughter of the late Captain Charles & Hazel (Haughn) Publicover.

She was survived by her son, Bill (Jean) Romkey, Dartmouth; daughter, Carole Bolivar, West LaHave; brother, Charles (Sheila) Publicover, West LaHave; 5 grandchildren, Julie Romkey; Trevor (Jennifer) Romkey; Tanya (Tom) Gates; Neil (Christa) Bolivar; Blair (Cindy) Bolivar; 7 great grandchildren, Jacob, Christina, Spencer, David, Peter, Abby & Mary Claire.

She was predeceased by her husband, William, an infant daughter, Golda, sister, Maisie & son in law, Dougie. She enjoyed her last year at Shoreham Village in Chester, NS, where she made many friends and loved playing bingo and cards. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, NS. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Goldie may be made to the South Shore Regional Hospital or charity of choice.
