Obituary of Sandy Schnare

SCHNARE, Alexander "Sandy" Gilbert - Age 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Barss Corner on Sunday, February 3, 2019.

Sandy grew up in Bridgewater, next to the train station, which gave him a great love of trains. Although Sandy was known as an auto mechanic, his real passion was for working with wood. Sandy enjoyed early retirement by spending time with his family, driving his 4-wheeler, and scrapping metal.

Sandy is forever remembered by his wife and best friend, Gwen Schnare; his daughters, Samantha (Kevin) Grayney, Dayspring; Laura (Robert) Wagner, Oakhill; grandsons, Alexander Wagner and Logan Wagner both of Oakhill; sisters, Linda (Brian) Grennan, Sackville; Peggy (Ronald) Chase, Barss Corner; and his very dear family friend whom he considered a third daughter, Klarrissa Richard.

Sandy was predeceased by his father, Gilbert John Schnare and mother, Barbara Vivian Schnare.

Join us at the family cabin, 1 Silvers Cove Road, Barss Corner, Saturday, May 11 from 3 -8 p.m., as we celebrate the life of Sandy Schnare. We will be having a campfire cookout with some of Sandy's favorite foods. There will be a slideshow of memories of Sandy. We will be ending the evening with fireworks. Come as you please, everyone is welcome to stay the whole time or stop in for a visit at your convenience.
