Obituary of Carl James Mosher

MOSHER, Carl James – 92, New Germany, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2019 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Timmins, Ont., he was a son of the late Annis and Leta (Waterman) Mosher.

Carl was a veteran of the Second World War. He was an active member of his community, being involved in many organizations and events; a 27 year member of the New Germany Volunteer Fire Department and member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch #102, New Germany for many years. Prior to retirement, Carl was employed with the Lunenburg County District School Board having worked in several schools as a custodian and part-time bus driver and completing his career as head custodian for New Germany Rural High School.

Surviving are his wife, Jean (DeLong) Mosher; sons, Calvin (Gail) Mosher, Beaverlodge, AB; Ivan Mosher (Lucy Robar), New Germany; son-in-law, Richard Oickle, Upper Cornwall; step son, Alvin MacKay; grandchildren, Ryan, Jamie, Colin, Amanda, Neil Robar; great-grandchildren, Joary, Parker, Mckenna, Bridget and Isaac; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy (Veinot) Mosher; daughters, Marion Oickle, Donna in infancy; daughter-in-law, Anne Mosher; sisters, Audrey Veinot and Kathleen Trethewey; brother, Kendall.

There will be no visitation by request. A Legion tribute and funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, February 15, 2019 in Epworth United Church, New Germany. Rev. David Lutes officiating, Rev. Catherine Robar assisting. Private family interment will be in Epworth Cemetery, New Germany.

Reception will follow in the church hall. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Epworth United Church or charity of choice.
