Obituary of Edwin Harvey Toombs

Toombs, Edwin Harvey- Age 88 of Bridgewater, passed away May 12, 2019 in Hillside Pines Home for Special Care, Bridgewater. Born in Borden, P.E.I., May 1, 1931, he was a son of the late Ralph and Elizabeth (McAssey) Toombs. He is survived by his daughter, Marlene (Paul Tanner) Toombs, Bridgewater; sisters, Mary Toombs, Tatamagouche; Margaret Bayles, Grimsby, Ont; brothers, Fred (Marilyn) Toombs, Guelph; George (Marion) Toombs, Vancouver; grandchildren, Mason and Madison; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Edwin was predeceased by his wife, Marion and brother, Stanley. 
A Legion Tribute Service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, June 14 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York St., Bridgewater.  A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m., in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater, Simon Davies officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edwin’s memory may be made to the Diabetes Foundation. The family would like to thank the staff of Hillside Pines for their excellent care of Ed while in residence.
