Obituary of Roland Lewis Veinot
VEINOT, Roland Lewis – Age 70, formerly of Nineveh, Lunenburg County passed away peacefully at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 with family at his bedside.
He was the third child of thirteen. Roland was a son of the late Guilford and Winnifred (Smith) Veinot. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Daniel, Alan, Raeburn and sister, Annette.
Surviving are his siblings, Lorne (Sharilyn), Winnipeg; Robert (Lynda), Nineveh; Debbie (Bernie), Nineveh; Mervyn (Betty), Colpton; Wilfred, Ontario; Darleen (Dwight), Nineveh; Carson, Nineveh; Boyd (Letty), Alberta; many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
Roland retired from Canada Manpower office in Bridgewater after 30 plus years of employment. He lived his life to the fullest in his wheelchair with very few complaints. His knowledge and love of the outdoors included moose hunting, deer hunting, fly fishing, fly tying, trout fishing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, canoeing, and his greatest love was rabbit hunting with his hounds.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. A public graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 25 in the Hemford Cemetery, Hemford, Lunenburg County. Family Flowers only please. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
The family would like to extend a special heart felt thank-you to his extended family at the ICU unit at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Each and every one of you held a special place in his heart. The care given to him and shown to us, the family will never be forgotten. On behalf of Rollie’s family, we would also like to thank the CRC unit at Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg for all the care he received.
