Obituary of Violet Evelyn Oickle

OICKLE, Violet Evelyn (nee Brewster) - Age 92, formerly of Kingston, passed away on August 18, 2019 at Oakwood Terrace Nursing Home, Dartmouth.

Born in South Cambridge, Violet was a daughter of the late Percy and Sadie Brewster. Violet was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She spent her life taking care of her children and helping her husband run the family farm.  She enjoyed quilting and playing guitar in her spare time.  In later years, she devoted her time to her beloved grandchildren.

Violet is survived by her loving children: daughters, Gloria (Ambrose), PEI; Linda (Mike), Dartmouth; June (Kenny), Dartmouth; Kim (Shane), North Carolina; Natasha (Glen), Australia; sons, Russ (Pam), Bridgewater; Dwayne, Middleton; sister, Hilda, Ontario; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Carman Oickle; sisters, Rita, Joyce and Alberta.

A special thank you to all the staff at Oakwood Terrace Nursing Home, Dartmouth, especially the caregivers on A Unit for their care and kindness.  Top on Violet’s list were Liz and Justin.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater.  As per her wishes, there will be no service.  Interment will take place at a later date, in the new Tremont Cemetery, Tremont.
