Obituary of Percy Raymond Veinot

Veinot, Percy Raymond Jr -Age 91 of West Northfield, passed away October 13, 2019 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born June 9, 1928 in Hartford, Connecticut, he was a son of the late Percy (Sr.) and Mamie (Eisenhauer) Veinot. He leaves to mourn, his wife of 72 years, Barbara Veinot (Darr); sons, Gary (Dora) and Richard; daughter-in-law, Janice; granddaughters, Lesley, Cheryl (Cory), Deanna (John); grandson, Gregory; step-granddaughters, Karen and Kristen (Richard); great and step great-grandchildren, Nathalie, Foster, Cameron, Elsie, Harper, Nicholas and Noah. Surviving are his brothers, George (Glory), Roy (Mercedes), Gerald (Elsa); sister, Gloria; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter, Faye; son, Garth; brothers, Robert, Wallace, Elmer, Dale; sisters, Glenice, Ferne and Arlene.  

In earlier years, Percy drove tanker trucks for Irving Oil. He also worked at South Shore Ready Mix and the Department of Highways. Percy enjoyed the sport of hunting and salmon fishing. He and Barbara enjoyed playing cards with their friends. They made many friendships during their years camping at LaHave River Campground.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Friday, October 25 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater; Rev. L. Dale Gray officiating. A reception will follow the service. Interment will follow the reception in Maple Grove Cemetery, West Northfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Percy’s memory may be made to the Maple Grove Cemetery.
