Shirley Sylva Wile

Age 89 of Hebbville, Lunenburg County, passed away on December 8, 2019 in Ridgewood Assisted Living, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, she was the only child of the late John Ira Cecil Hebb and Ruby Mary Abigail Mullock. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Wile in 2014.  Shirley attended Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing in Halifax where she completed her Nursing training in 1952.  Raymond’s career as a Civil Engineer took them to Quebec and Presque Isle, Maine where Shirley worked as an RN. She enjoyed her nursing profession for over 30 years. After retirement, Shirley and Raymond relocated back to Hebbville where Shirley devoted herself to the care of her parents and volunteering. They enjoyed traveling and spent many happy winters in New Smyrna, Florida. Shirley will be missed by her family and friends.

Surviving are her daughter Raeann (Michael) Hodgson; sons, Andrew (Cheryl) Wile; Stephen Wile; grandchildren Mark, Melanie, Michael, Kenney, Cassie, Chase, Kierstynn, Brandon; great grandchildren, Autumn and Alexander.

The support and love from Dianne Simpson, her first cousin, and the staff at Ridgewood Assisted Living were irreplaceable. We are forever grateful for the time they dedicated to Shirley in her later years while in Nova Scotia.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. Service will be held in the Spring at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. (Date and time to be determined later).  Interment will follow in Hebbville Cemetery, Hebbville.  No flowers by request, donations may be made to the charity of choice.
