Obituary of James "Jim" Gerard Sewell

Sewell, James “Jim” Gerard -Age 79 died peacefully in his sleep early on Saturday morning, February 29, 2020.  He was born in Wallsend, England on March 26, 1940.  He is survived by his loving wife Kathleen, his sons Gerry and Phil and his sister Judy.  He was predeceased by his youngest son Greg and his sister Maureen.  

Despite his dementia, Jim lived a full and happy life.  He had a successful career with IBM and his decision to emigrate from England to Canada in 1967 created a life of adventure for the whole family. 

He was passionate about fishing and passed this passion on to his sons.  He was never happier than when he was out on his boat.  He also loved skiing and travelling and planned many exiting holidays for the family.  He will be deeply missed.  May he rest in peace. 

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday March 5 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater, Reverend Patrick Morris, Deacon officiating. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
