Obituary of Lucille Antoinette Naugler

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Lucille Antoinette (MacKay) Naugler, 87 of Springfield, N.S. Born February 9th, 1933 in Pinehurst, the first born to Rex & Hilda (Lowe) MacKay. Mom was a devoted, loving wife for 61 years to LeRoy and mother to Larry and Tanya (Scott-Riley, grand-dog Rose).  A loving sister, sister-in-law and aunt to Allison (Allie) & Linda MacKay (Anne, Alan- Jessica (Patrick) & Nicholas) (Richard &Tina), James (Jiddy) & Barbara, Irene Conrad Mackay (Timmy-Travis &Tashina) (Natalie), Betty Lou MacKay. Margaret Naugler, Harold & Jane Naugler (Sandy). Mom was predeceased by her parents, parents in law Lewis & Reta (Sanford) Naugler, James & Barbara, infant sister Betty Lou and Harold Naugler.

Mom shared a special bond with her 1st Cousin Audrey Fancy, they were like sisters and we are so thankful Mom had her to always count on for anything, anytime. Mom was proud of each and every one of her relatives no matter how close or distant.  She was a wealth of family knowledge and her memories of times with them will be greatly missed.

Mom had a great love for animals both big and small and they all loved her.  She was generous with treats and any animal in her care was usually quite plump.  Her other great love was for flowers, plants and trees of all kinds. She kept a shovel in the trunk of her Oldsmobile and would come to an abrupt halt anywhere she spotted a baby tree she had to have.

Mom was the heart of our family. She made every birthday, Christmas, Easter and achievement extra special with her special Mom touch.

We would like to thank all the kind friends in the community who frequently dropped off baked treats. Mom loved them all and I "always" heard how delicious they were.  A special thankyou to Carolyn Brown (special friend to Mom) & Emery Sawler for all your help and kindness to Mom & Dad.

To my big brother who has cared for our parents this past year thankyou, you are my hero!

We love you Mom, rest peacefully xo.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater.
