Obituary of Mildred LeVerne MacKay

MACKAY, Mildred LeVerne – age 95 of Upper Northfield, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2021 in Rosedale Home, New Germany.  Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Arleigh and Alda (Emino) Varner.  Mildred was a lifetime-chartered member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #102, New Germany.  She enjoyed many things such as music and bingo but due to failing eyesight in her later years, she was unable to do many of the things that brought her so much joy.  Although she spent her final years in Rosedale, she always considered Upper Northfield to be home.  Mildred was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  Surviving is her daughter, Linda Mordeen, Chester; sons, Barry Conrad, Upper Northfield; James (Annette) Conrad, Watford;  grandchildren, Jeff Mordeen, Holly Conrad, Devin Conrad; great-grandchildren; Aleena, Bradley and Archer.  Besides her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her first husband, Ronald Conrad; second husband, Karl MacKay; son, Randolph Conrad; sister, Doris Veinot and brother, Ray Varner.  The family wishes to send a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at Rosedale Home, New Germany for the excellent care provided to Mildred over the last few years.  Arrangements are under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 Highway 10, New Germany.  There will be no visitation by request.  A public graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, April 9 in Hillside Cemetery, Upper Northfield.
