Obituary of Gloria Jean Silver

SILVER, Gloria Jean – It is with deep sadness, we announce that Gloria Jean Silver (Dauphinee), age 78 of Lower Northfield passed away peacefully on August 25, 2021 in the South Shore Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Born on April 15, 1943 in Maitland, she was a daughter of the late Malcolm and Gertrude Dauphinee.

Gloria was a loving wife of 59 years to Eugene Silver. She was a proud mom to Darin (Liz Carter) and Paula (David) Barkhouse. She is also survived by sisters, Doreen (Harry (Deceased)) Wheeler; Brenda (Kendall) Ernst; brother, Stewart (Shirley) Dauphinee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She and Eugene operated the Denmark Restaurant in West Northfield for 16 years until retirement, making lots of great friendships along the way. She loved a good game of crib at the camp, as well as seeing everyone come there for the annual thanksgiving gathering.  She was one of the most kindhearted people around and always loved a good laugh. Thanks to the nurses on the 4th floor for your compassion and caring for mom in her final hours.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. There will be no visitation by request. A private graveside will be held for family only.
