Obituary of Alicia Penney

Penney, Alicia – Age 84 of Bridgewater, passed away on September 21, 2021, in Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany. She was born in Newfoundland to the late Edward and Eileen Fitzgerald. She is survived by husband, John (Jack); siblings, Katherine Myrick, Newfoundland; Ambrose Fitzgerald, Ontario.

Alicia and her husband John (Jack), a retired RCMP superintendent, moved to Bridgewater in 1990. Alicia was a graduate of Memorial University, St. John’s, Newfoundland. She taught school for 34 years throughout the Atlantic provinces. She enjoyed cross country and downhill skiing, curling and golf.

For the past 3 years, Alicia was a resident at Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany. A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 14, 2021 in St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Bridgewater. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
