Obituary of Angella Anne Sabean

SABEAN, Angella Anne – Age 58, of Bridgewater. It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Angella Anne Sabean, on September 26th, 2021, after a heroic battle with cancer. Born July 25th, 1963, in Bridgewater, N.S., to her late parents, Robert Jr. and Kathleen (Weagle) McCarthy. Her optimism was unparalleled and truly inspiring. 

Angella will be dearly missed by her partner, Konstantin Sokolenko; son, Benjamin (Robin) Nickerson; granddaughter, Madeleine Nickerson; and siblings, Trudy (Michael) Rafuse, MacGregor (Susan) McCarthy, Kim (David) Skinner, Mitchell (Keri-Ann) McCarthy, Bliss (Shelley) McCarthy, Crystal (Michael) McCarthy, Melissa (James) Lohnes, and Trena McCarthy.

To her numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, Angella was known affectionately as “Auntie”. She cherished her unique relationship with each of them, for there was nothing more important to her than family.

Angella was a dedicated employee for 40 years at the Bridgewater Superstore and loved being by the ocean. She often went to local beaches to collect sea glass, went mackerel fishing, and even built a boat with her partner. Angella also enjoyed playing board games and falling asleep watching movies. Her friends and family will remember her boundless love and devotion, always ready to provide any support or help that she could. 

A private family graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Angella’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or any animal welfare charity.
