Obituary of Marie Rita Crowell

Crowell, Marie Rita - Age 99, of Bridgewater, NS, passed away on October 1, 2021, at Hospice Halifax. Born in West Pubnico, she was the daughter of the late Ludger and Clara (d’Entremont) d’Entremont.

 Marie graduated from Yarmouth County Academy and was employed by Maritime Tel and Tel for 30 years in Yarmouth, Windsor, Halifax, and Bridgewater. She was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a member of the South Shore Hospital Auxiliary and a lay reader at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for 25 years.

Marie leaves behind her loving family: sons, Leland (Eleanor) of Bedford; David (Marilyn) of New Minas; grandsons, Scott (Michelle) of Rothesay, NB, and Andrew “Drew” (Kendra) of Bedford; great-grandsons, Emerson, Ethan, and Lawson; step grandsons, Robbie of Cleveland and Aaron (Crystal) of New Minas; step great-grandsons Logan, Brison, Dakota and Aiden; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband George and sisters Cecile and Jeanette.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Friday, October 8, 2021, in St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bridgewater. COVID protocols will be followed.  Due to Covid restrictions there will be no visitation or reception. Interment will be at the St Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the IWK Hospital Foundation or Hospice Halifax.
