Obituary of Yvonne Elizabeth Robar
Robar, Yvonne Elizabeth (Nee: Legge)
Born May 25th 1945 – December 2nd, 2022.
It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family of Yvonne Robar announces her passing on December 2nd, 2022, at the age of 77 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Charles; daughters, Angela and Nancy, and her beloved grandson, Charlie. Her friends and family will dearly miss her. She was predeceased by her brothers, Frank and Tracy Legge; sister, Theresa Legge and her parents, Arthur and Mildred Legge.
Yvonne (Bonn, Mom, or Nan to her friends and family) was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. Bonn grew up in Milton and fell in love with a young fellow from Chelsea. They got married, had two little girls, and eventually moved to Newcombville where they raised their family. She was a wonderful mother and supported her daughters with love and grace through life’s ups and downs. They were blessed to have a mom who was proud of them and was always there when they needed her. She was blessed with a Grandson who brought her so much joy. She loved him dearly and told everyone “Charlie stories”. Charlie is fortunate to have special memories of her as they had a lot of fun together.
She had a special bond with her dad. They really enjoyed each other’s company. She had a wonderful relationship with Paul and called him the best son-in-law in the whole world. The extended Robar family was very much her family and she loved them very much. It would be remiss not to mention her beloved dog, Oliver. We teased her that he was her favorite child. He has been a wonderful companion for her and Dad.
She was an excellent cook and showed her love by serving lots of yummy meals. She loved a good laugh and was quite devilish. She was always up for fun. She was kind. If you needed some honest advice, she was your person.
Bonn had been bravely facing cancer for over 2 years. She was strong through it all, and Charles was there to help her when it was hard. They were an excellent team and they loved one another very much.
We thought we had more time with her, but we are so thankful for the time we did have and the love she shared with us all. She will truly be missed and will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life for the family will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Canadian Cancer Society.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the NS Health Cancer Care Program and the South Shore Regional Hospital Emergency Department and First Responders for their grace and compassion. Mom was well looked after, and we are very grateful.
