Obituary of Eunice Viola Mailman

Eunice Viola Mailman (nee Guier) - Age 92, formally of Lake Pleasant, NS passed away peacefully at Mahone Bay Nursing Home, Mahone Bay, NS, on Tuesday Feb. 21, 2023. Born in Tiverton, NS on March 28, 1930, to the late Edmund and Viola (nee Clifford) Guier.  She is survived by her son Wayne Mailman, Bridgewater, NS; daughter Mary Lou (Graham) Corkum, Pleasantville, NS; daughter Annette
(Jeffrey) Veinot, Lake Pleasant, NS; brother Carl (Agnes) Guier, Riverview, NB; grandchildren, Jason Corkum (Sarah Moore), Allison Joudrey (Blair), Deanna Veinot (Arko Basu), Becca Veinot; and great grandchildren Landon and Finley Joudrey, Riley Corkum as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.  Eunice was predeceased by her husband Sheldon Allen Mailman, stillborn son Richard Dean Mailman, brother Colin Guier, sisters, Verna Graham, Jean Stoddard, Mae Goddard, Thelma Arsenault, Lyla Anthony.  Eunice attended Normal College in Truro with her sister Mae, to pursue the career of being a teacher, after which, she accepted teaching positions in North Range, Tusket, Centreville and her final position in Springfield, where she met her love, Sheldon. Several happy years were spent in Springfield before moving to Bridgewater, where Eunice took on substitute teaching. The couple eventually retired to Lake Pleasant, where Eunice enjoyed much time with family and friends, sharing holidays, meals, and music around the campfire. Over the years Eunice enjoyed many crafts, camping and travelling.
 

No visitation by request. A private service to be held in Springfield Baptist Church cemetery, Rev. Willis Ott officiating.  A public reception will be held at the Springfield Baptist Church Vestry, Feb 27th at 3:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mahone Bay Nursing Home, Springfield Baptist Church, or the charity of your choice.
