Dear Michael, Mark and family, My sincere condolences on the passing of your Mother. I grew up in Halifax and was a member of the Halifax Police Boys club where I 1st. met your father in 1962. We played hockey and golf together and started curling at the Glencoe Curling Club in a financial league in 1964 when we both were employed by the TD Bank. Another member of our team and co-employee at TD was Penny Laroche (Wilson) who like your Dad was well known in the Halifax curling community. Jack & I were close friends until I was transferred to Montreal in 1969 but we still saw each other when I visited home. Jack was transferred by the Bank to Oromocto, N.B. where he met your Mom and returned to Halifax where I also worked with Val at TD, Barrington & George before I was transferred. I have fond memories of them both. Ron Greig, Ottawa, Ontario

Mark, Mike and family.
I am so sorry to hear of Val's passing. I met your mother when I worked with her at TD Bank and then after our office closed, I would see her at the curling events where we would occasionally have a glass of wine together. She was a wonderful lady - and she was a lady in every sense of the word. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

So sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. Valerie & I worked together at the original TD Branch on Barrington St for many years becoming fast friends. She was a great mentor with a kind gentle spirit. May it bring you peace knowing she has been reunited with your Dad the love of her life.

Mike, Mark and family. Your mother was a real trooper. I remember Jack telling me about one of their vacations in which Valerie attended casinos, baseball games, and a football game just to be with Jack. There was another time in which Jack and Val curled with me in the senior mixed, and we won the provincial, you would’ve thought Valerie had just won the Brier she was so excited.. My condolences.

Michael, Mark and family,
I was so saddened to hear of the loss of your Mom. She was very special to me and we shared a lot of great memories over the years. I can remember the very first time I met her at TD and she quickly became an important part of my life. I called her my second Mom and she would call me her daughter and we would chuckle when we said it. I am happy to know she is with your dad again. She will be greatly missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you on the passing of your mother. I worked for many years with your mother at TD and she was an amazing role model and mentor to me. My husband Brian curled with your Dad Jack and I have many fond memories of watching the two of them curl. She was one of the kindest people I have ever met with such a gentle soul. She will be greatly missed.

So sorry to hear of Val’s passing. She was a very sweet and kind person, always ready to help out. I curled with Val at the Mayflower and she invited me to try lawn bowling at Wander’s. It was a great decision. Wishing you peace and comfort in these difficult days.

Condolences on Valerie's passing. She was a lovely person. I met her & Jack when I lived on Carriageway Crescent. Later I continued friendship with Valerie at the Mayflower Day Ladies and the Wanderers bowling club. She always had a smile and kind words. I know her last few years were challenging but she is now at peace. Family & friends meant so much to her. She will be missed

Dear Mark and family, Steve and I are so sorry to hear Val is gone. I have the best memories of Val. She was for sure the best lawn bowling lead in NS. She had the kindest heart to bowl with the worst skip in N S which was me but we always had a good time because she had a positive attitude and took heart in the little victories. We enjoyed our Mikes Hard Lemonade after prep league play but we only ever had one! Our hope is that she is with Jack who has been looking for her and that memories of her will uplift your spirits at this time. Love Lorraine and Steve Bezanson

Michael, Mark and Davita, and grandchildren. I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom, Mom in law and grandmother. She was a special lady and will be greatly missed. One of my fondest memories is when we spent a long weekend in the orange house. Dawn Goodine, Dawn Vienneau, Krista Baxter and Valerie and myself. We laughed the entire weekend and still talk about it to this day. She hosted many a meal for us as well while living on Carriageway. She will be very happy to be reunited with Jack. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dearest Michael and Mark. Dalton and I were so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. Val was a very good friend to me for many years. We shared all our joys and sorrows and Val was always there to laugh ,cry and give me the most thoughtful advice. I still practise many of the lessons she taught me and have passed the most important along to my family and friends. She was one of the hardest working women I knew climbing through the ranks at the bank when it was still a very male dominated industry. She was highly regarded by staff, Management, friends and the communities in which she served. Her greatest loves were her three “boys”, Jack, and you both, her precious sons. Everything she was and did was for the three of you. Valerie has left a great legacy in you both Michael and Mark, and I know your precious girls will continue that legacy.
Sending hugs of comfort. Much love, Dawn and Dalton Goodine
