Obituary of Ingeburg Emma Fancey

Ingeburg Emma Fancey (Franz) passed away on Sept 20, 2023, surrounded by family at South Shore Regional Hospital at the age of 88. We want to thank the many helpful staff at the hospital who have treated her over the last few months. A special sincere thank you to Drs. Heather and Kevin Johnson who has truly been amazingly helpful, patient, and compassionate throughout, we couldn't have asked for better care.

Inge was a strong and proud woman. She was stubbornly independent right up till the very end. She always helped out as much as she could, loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much and always had a treat for them. She also enjoyed walking everyday, road trips, and her afternoon TV.

She was born in West Germany in 1935 before WW2 had even begun, so had a very different childhood than most. She was the daughter of Johann and Helene (Eickwort) Franz. Inge was predeceased by her brother Herbert Franz.

She met the love of her life Maurice James Fancey, (predeceased 2021) in Germany and they married in 1962 and then he brought his bride back to Canada. They traveled much of Europe and Canada over the years, many great adventures were had by all of us. Inge is survived by her daughter Tracey (Chris) Hartman and her son Raymond (Debbie) Fancey, three grandchildren Melissa (Graham) Fancey, James

(Christina) Hartman and Jason (Jenny) Hartman and seven great grandchildren Bella, Natalie, Ragnar, Oliver, Huxley, Helaina, and Magnus.

We are at peace knowing Mom and Dad are together again.
