In loving memory of
Linda
1947 - 2024
Linda Margaret Adams
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, dear friend and Nana. Linda passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2024, with family by her side. Linda Margaret was born on December 6, 1947, in Barrington and was the daughter of the late Douglas and Nellie Crowell. Throughout her childhood and adolescent years, Linda enjoyed numerous family vacations, which sparked her lifelong love of travel. Linda graduated from nursing school in 1969 and married the love of her life, Larry in 1970. Linda began her nursing career in Yarmouth, later working at the Highland View Hospital in Amherst. In 1972, she and Larry settled in Bridgewater, where she devoted more than thirty years as a nurse at the Dawson Memorial Hospital, which later moved and was renamed the South Shore Regional Hospital. Together, Linda and Larry raised three children in a loving home in Bridgewater. Rarely apart over their 54 years of marriage, they were active together in their local community, often seen at the curling club, the ball fields, the Anglican church and many other community and sporting events throughout the town. Linda devoted her life to caring for others and did so with kindness, patience and compassion. An avid gardener, she tended to her yard with the same gentle care, creating magnificent gardens that were a source of pride and joy. A passionate sports fan, Linda loved watching curling, baseball, and hockey, especially cheering for her favorite – the Toronto Blue Jays—a passion she inherited from her father. Linda loved to travel, and she and Larry embarked on many family vacations and holidays throughout their married life. Her most cherished memories were those she spent travelling with special friends and family in her retirement years. Above all, Linda’s greatest joy was her role as Nana to her six beautiful grandchildren – Thomas, Nicholas, Reese, Isla, Wyatt and Harrison. With a soft heart and a kind soul, she loved her grandchildren fiercely, and she was so proud of each of them. Linda is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry Adams; her children, Shelley (Chris) Mosher, Shawn (Mary) Adams, and Ryan (Anne) Adams; her grandchildren, Thomas, Nicholas, Reese, Isla, Wyatt and Harrison; her brother, Del (Carol) Crowell; many nieces and nephews; and treasured friends. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Harbour View Haven in Lunenburg for their compassionate care for Linda in her final stages of life. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2024, in C. F. Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in Linda’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.Linda Margaret Adams

Kind, gentle, soft spoken, funny, determined, loving and caring are but a few words I could use to describe Linda. It was an honour and privilege to be a co-worker and friend with such a special person for so many years, both at the Dawson Memorial and South Shore Regional. She taught us all to be considerate and tolerant of others and to treat each other with respect. May Peace be with you all, as you go through this difficult time.
