Obituary of Susan Elizabeth Rafuse
Susan E. Rafuse – 69, of Mahone Bay, passed away December 16th, 2024 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. She was the daughter of the late Victor and Mary (Hirtle) Rafuse.
Susan is survived by her brothers Danny Rafuse (Arla), Bridgewater, Steven Rafuse (Debbie), Dayspring; sister, Lynn Rafuse (Mike Snyder), Rhodes Corner; sister-in-law, Rev. Cheryl Rafuse, Beechville; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Susan was predeceased by her brother Michael (Cheryl) Rafuse.
Susan was employed by Zellers in Bridgewater for 25 years and retired early due to health reasons. She was an avid crafts person, always searching craft books for her next project. She could do anything she set her mind to. She enjoyed family get-togethers, and loved to bake something fabulous for dessert. She was also very fond of animals, especially her dog “Dusty”.
Susan was a gentle soul who always enjoyed hearing a good joke. After being diagnosed with Parkinsons her health steadily declined. The family is grateful for the care and compassion she received during the last nine years living in Mahone Bay Nursing Home.
By request, a family committal service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SHAID animal shelter, or to a charity of choice.
