Obituary of Ernest Reagh Leonard
Ernest (Ernie) Reagh Leonard
Of Bridgewater. It is with great sadness that the family of Ernest Leonard announces his passing on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the South Shore Regional Hospital. Born in Clarence, Annapolis Co. on July 8, 1925, he was a son of the late Robert and Ella (Chesley) Leonard. Ernest grew up on a small farm in Clarence. After joining Maritime Tel and Tel he worked in various parts of the Valley, eventually being transferred to the South Shore where he retired after 37 years of faithful service. Ernie took great pride in the family home, where he spent many happy hours in his vegetable and flower gardens. He also took great pleasure in feeding and watching the birds and other wildlife that visited the backyard. He was especially talented at wood working, and many people received and enjoyed his creations. Ernest will be deeply missed and forever lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Eileen (Anderson), son Larry of New Jersey, USA and daughter Sandra Clark (Ken) of PEI, grandchildren, Lindsey (Taylor) Levangie, Jamie (Jaclyn) Clark, and great-granddaughter Farrah Levangie. He was predeceased by brothers Avard, Harold and Donald. Visitation will be held Wednesday March 21 from 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. A memorial service will be held 2pm Thursday in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, Rev Ron Appleton officiating. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada or the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
