Obituary of Ralph Victor Lohnes

Ralph Victor Lohnes 82, Hebbville, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Wileville, he was a son of the late Charles “Duddy” and Greta “Muddy” (Wile) Lohnes. He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years Lillian “Jippie” (Baker). Ralph believed if you worked hard you would be successful. He was a very honest, loyal man who loved his four sons. Ralph was a businessman who started a number of ventures which all proved very successful during his life, until he took early retirement at the age of 50. During his retirement years, he spent many days hunting, fishing and spending time with his friends and family. Ralph and his wife loved going for drives and rarely did a week go by that they didn’t find an excuse to make their weekly outing to the valley. He also spent many hours supporting his wife with her health issues until her passing at the age of 59 in 1995. Ralph enjoyed working at either large Jigsaw puzzles or Sudoko puzzles in his spare time and would not miss an episode of either Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune. Ralph was a strong supporter of the Liberal Party. After his wife’s passing, he was very fortunate to meet his companion and special friend Jean, who was a great friend to Ralph over the last 14 years. She supported Ralph during his many health issues in the latter part of his life.
