Pearl Winnifred Russell
81, of New Germany passed away Thursday January 26 2012 at Rosedale Home for Special Care with her family by her side. Born in New Germany, she was a daughter of the late Edward and May (Whynot) Ernst. She is survived by her devoted husband Edgar; children Rona; Gary (Lyda); Deborah (Rick Harlow); Wade (Donna) all of New Germany; sister Doretha (Doug Gaul), Greenwich; brother Aubrey (Sylvia) Ernst, Dartmouth; grandchildren Gary (Renee) and Shelley Mailman, Jordon and Shelby Russell; great granddaughter Talesse along with many nieces and nephews. Pearl and her husband Edgar operated "Russell’s Quick Mart” in New Germany for 27 years. She adored her grandchildren and liked camping, Blue Grass, bowling and was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 102, New Germany. Pearl and Edgar were married in a double wedding ceremony 63 years ago with her predeceased sister Leola and Edgar’s brother Bradford. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday January 30 in St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany, Rev. Juanita Barteaux officiating and assisted by Rev. Catherine Robar. Burial will be at a later date. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Alzheimer’s Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of choice.
