Obituary of Lillian Elfreda Sellors

Lillian Elfreda Sellors 90, Dartmouth, formerly of Bridgewater, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2012 in Halifax Infirmary, Halifax. Lillian was born in West Northfield, NS, on October 30, 1921. She was a daughter of the late Maynard and Cynthia Mailman. Surviving are children Susan, Bedford, and Steven (Cathryn Ward), Grove Hill, NB. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Sellors, brothers Rex, Laurie, and Everett, sisters Helen and Pearl, niece Linda Copeland, and nephews Brian, Mailman, and Joe Mailman. Lillian began her business career at the Royal Bank in Liverpool, NS. Her love of travel drew her to Trans Canada Airlines where she met the love of her life, Richard. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage and during those years they lived in Moncton, Toronto, Rothesay, and Dunedin, FL. They retired to their lovely home on the LaHave River in 1972. Their final move together was to Bowsprit Close in Bedford. There they found wonderful neighbours and made many new friendships. Lillian was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and aunt especially to her Copeland nephews. Her greatest passions were for her family and friends. For those who knew her best, they were fortunate to witness a remarkable woman who knew the importance of love, forgiveness, generosity, respect and compassion. Her blue eyes always sparkled with intelligence and we all knew Lil had a terrific sense of style. She will truly be missed by all. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Service of Remembrance will be held at Lutheran Church of our Saviour, 255 Portland Street, Dartmouth on Friday, April 20, at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Dick Beiber officiating. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. No flowers by request. Donations may be directed to a charity of your choosing or the QEII Foundation, attention unit 7.3. Special thanks to the staff that looked after Lillian. Many thanks to “the Scott girls”, Sue and Mary Anne, and their wonderful families.
