Obituary of Margaret Dorothy Ward

Margaret Dorothy Ward 99, New Germany, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012 in Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany. She was born September 15, 1912 in New Germany to parents, Isaac and Eldora (Lowe) Tipert and where she lived most of her life. She was a member of St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany. She met her future husband, Murray, at young peoples’ activities held at the church hall. Her employment included working at the family’s ice cream parlour, teaching elementary school and as a store clerk. She spent many years as a homemaker and mother, giving support to her husband, the local school principal, in his many school related duties. She was known for her active and curious mind, enjoying crossword puzzles, crypto-quotes and looking up answers to life’s little questions. She enjoyed playing bridge, needlework, camping, gardening, snowmobiling, fishing and spending as much time as possible outdoors. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are sons, Wendell (Mary), Lanark, Ont; Daryl (Susan), Falkland Ridge; grandchildren, Sandra (Andrew) McPhee, Bruce (Usha) Ward, Amanda Ward, Carolyn (Markus) Binder and Beverly Ward; great grandchildren, Matthew, Erynne and Noah MacPhee, Tyler Ward; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Murray; sisters, Meda Whynot, Amy Meisner, Elsie Veinot and Edith Poole; brothers, Reginald, Layton, Maxwell. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church. Rev. Juanita Barteaux officiating with Rev. Catherine Robar assisting. Burial in St. John's Cemetery. A reception to follow in the church all. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rosedale Home for Special Care or St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church.
