Obituary of Kenneth Charles Whynot

Kenneth Charles Whynot 80, of Upper Northfield passed away peacefully with his family by his side Saturday, May 12, 2012 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born October 31, 1931 in Liverpool, he was the son of the late Kenneth Charles and Florence (Stewart) Whynot Sr. In his early years he operated his own trucking business. He later worked at the Dolphin Tavern in Lunenburg for 11 years. After that he was employed as a meatcutter in various stores around the South Shore. Later in life he opened his own meatcutting business with his wife in Upper Northfield working many long hours. Two things Ken was known to love were his various new trucks and his beloved dalmation, Reuben. He was a dedicated family man, with a generous nature to those he loved. He always welcomed family and friends in his home. Kenneth is survived by his wife Catherine (Crouse); daughters Kimberly and Nicole Whynot, both of Bridgewater; son Dane (Nancy) Louvelle, Porters Lake; step son Daren (Darlene Ansems) Crouse, Upper Northfield; sisters Dorothy (Milton) Dorey, Maders Cove; Hazel Roach, Bridgewater; Rita (Bill) Wells, Liverpool; brothers Burton (Jean) Whynot; White Point; Harold (Betty) Whynot, Liverpool; Michael (Debbie) Whynot, Dartmouth; Freeman (Anna) Whynot, Liverpool; grandchildren Ryan, Taylor, Amy, Brad, Claire, Melissa, Kayla and Brayden along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Rhoda Whynot; half sisters Elizabeth, Elsie and Florence; half brothers Donald, Dan and Leo. Visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00 PM Tuesday, May 15 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater from where the Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 16, Rev. Ian Wissler officiating. A private family burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Upper Northfield. Immediate family flowers only. Memorial donations in Kenneth’s memory may be made to the charity of choice.
