Obituary of Weston Earle Cleversey
Weston Earle Cleversey
June 26, 1928 – February 23, 2013.
It is with joy and sorrow mingling that the family of Weston Earle Cleversey, formerly of Dartmouth and recently of Bridgewater, announce that he passed peacefully into his eternal rest on February 23, 2013. He is now with his Lord Jesus Christ which is far better. He leaves behind his loving wife of sixty plus years, Winnie Hazel (Langley) Cleversey, his five children, Cathie (Ed) Wilson, Pleasantville; Everett (Nancy) Cleversey, Sydney; Phillip (Shelley) Cleversey, Ont.; David (Kelly) Cleversey, Dartmouth; and Charllotte (David) Abbot, Dartmouth; his grandchildren, Melanie (Jean) Bruneau, Petticodiac, NB; Shawn (Caroline) Wilson, Cocagne, NB; Chad Wilson, Alberta; Byron (Meredith) Cleversey, Toronto; Kimberly Cleversey, Halifax; Kyle Cleversey, Toronto; Katie Cleversey, Halifax; and Myles and Mitchell Abbott, Dartmouth. His great grandchildren are Michaella and Brennen Bruneau and Evie and MacKenzie Wilson. He is also survived by his sister, Judith (Cameron) Wilkin, Fredericton and their children Gretchen (Blake) Heagy and children, Ottawa and Ross (Christie) Wilkin and children, Australia. Weston was predeceased by his parents, Bronson James and Lillian (Corkum) Cleversey formerly of West LaHave and step mother Grace (Corkum) Cleversey also formerly of West LaHave. Weston is remembered for his care and devotion over many years shown towards his wife Winnie. They were a team often referred to as W. and W. Enterprises Limited! In this capacity they counselled and served many family, friends, and strangers in their former home on Glenwood Avenue. For recreation, Wes often enjoyed his favourite sport of bowling with his friends and colleagues. Most of his working life was spent at Imperial Oil Refinery Dartmouth in the Instrumentation Department. He remembered his Lord and Saviour every Lord’s Day as long as he was able with those of like precious faith in Dartmouth. Public visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, and where funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday February 27, 2013. Service will be conducted by his son-in-law Edward Wilson. There will be a private interment in West LaHave cemetery where grandson Shawn Wilson will speak words of condolence. Friends and family are invited to a reception at the Pleasantville Fire Hall following the funeral service. Charitable donations can be made to the Diabetic Association, Liver Foundation, Kidney Foundation, Gideon Bible Society, or charity of choice. Family flowers only please. The family takes this opportunity to express heartfelt thanks to the staff at Ridgewood Retirement Center, South Shore Regional Hospital, Dr. Peter MacAulay, Dr. Kerry Jo Parker, Palliative Care workers Noleen Riley and Bonnie Sweet and all who helped with their loving care and services in many ways.
