Obituary of Grover Bennett Fancy

Grover Bennett Fancy 76, East Dalhousie, Kings Co., passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the Q.E. II, Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born December 5, 1936 in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Guy and Florence (Keddy) Fancy. Grover was a pillar in the community and a friend to all. His talents were endless along with his helping hand. His constant smile, devilish sense of humour, patience and loving ways will never be forgotten. The sparkle in his eyes when surrounded by his grandchildren would fill the air with love and laughter. He will be sadly missed by all. Surviving are his children, Wanda (David) Lake, East Walton; Wendell (Charlotte) Fancy, Blue Mountain; Tina (Rodney) Grace, Newcombville; Niki (Jim) Petrie, Canning; grandchildren, Stephanie, Kaitlin, Sarah, Mitchell, Jenna, Matthew; great grandson, Seth; companion, Helen Daniels, East Dalhousie; former wife, Marlene Fancy, Bridgewater; sisters, Rhena Joudrey, Cherryfield; Greta Crossland, East Dalhousie; sister in law, Audrey Fancy, East Dalhousie; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Arnold Fancy. Visitation 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Funeral service 2 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2013 in St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church, East Dalhousie, Rev. Judi Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
