Donald G. Faulkenham
A resident of Chelmsford, Mass., for the past 47 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, March 3, 2013 at Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley in Billerica. He was the beloved husband of Ruby L. (Joudrey) Faulkenham with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. He was born in Upper Northfield, on April 30, 1934 and was a son of the late Wilfred Lohnes and Arabel (Fancey) Lohnes. He owned and operated Don Faulkenham Siding and Doors and was a general contractor in the Chelmsford area for many years. He also sold Christmas trees to the residents of Chelmsford for over 40 years. His trees were brought to the area from his native Nova Scotia. Donald was an avid gardener, enjoyed woodworking and loved the outdoors. In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his daughter; Debbie Silver and her husband Alton of Watford, two sons; Rick Faulkenham, Lowell, Mass. and David Faulkenham and his wife Cheryl, Chelmsford; three grandchildren, Jake Faulkenham, Amanda Faulkenham and Brittany Silver and two great grandchildren; Maddax and Mari-Lynn; two sisters; Helen Hoage of Farmington, NH and Sharon Varner and her husband Roscoe of Upper Northfield; several cousins. He was the father of the late Sheila Faulkenham who passed away from Lupus at the age of 16 in 1975. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 4 to 6 pm at the Blake Funeral Home, Chelmsford, Mass. A second visitation will take place 2-4 p.m., Saturday March 9 2013 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany and where funeral service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2013. Rev. William Gustafson officiating. Burial will take place at the Hillside Cemetery, Upper Northfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation.
