Obituary of William Gustafson
Reverend William "Rev. Gus" Gustafson
66 of Bridgewater passed away peacefully on Saturday October 19 2013 at home. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts, USA he was a son of the late Lennart and Arlene (Hodges) Gustafson. Gus was ordained in June 1973 serving mostly in the Northfield parishes of Lunenburg County for 34 years. Gus was a devoted member and currently sitting on the board of Camp Mush a Mush for several years until his passing. He was a member, and past secretary of the Lunenburg Co. Wildlife Association. Gus was a passionate hunter and angler. Gus always spoke too many about his annual trip to Maine to spend time at his parents cottage. Gus is survived by a sister, Arlene (Steve) O’Brien, Canton MA, Brothers Robert, Melbourne, Fla; Richard (Karen) North Easton, MA; Frederick (Melissa) Dorchester, MA. Gus also leaves behind close friends Gary and Donna Penney, Upper Northfield. It is Gus’s wishes that visitation will be held from 4-9pm Wednesday October 23 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be 2pm Thursday October 24 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg. Bishop Michael Pryse along with Rev. Willis Ott, and Rev. Kimber McNabb officiating. Following the funeral service in Lunenburg, funeral arrangements will be transferred over to Folsom Funeral Home, Dedham Massachusetts (flosomfunerl@aol.com) for burial in the Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury MA. Memorial donations in Gus’s memory may be made to the Waterloo Lutheran Seminary, Waterloo Ontario, or a Charity of one’s Choice.
