Obituary of Evelyn Violet Hartling

Evelyn Violet Hartling 92 of Dartmouth, NS passed away Wednesday 4 September 2013 in Northwood Centre Halifax. Born in Rockland, Kings Co. she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Minnie (Hall) Silver. She is survived by her son Roger (Carol) Hartling, Halifax; daughter Darlene Mead, Dartmouth; grandchildren Sherrie Bryden, Halifax; Kimberly Burgos, Halifax; Scott Hartling, Bridgewater and step grandson, Michael Williams, Bridgewater; eight great grandchildren; sisters Gerry MacDougall, Victoria BC; Pauline Schofield, Greenwood; brother Wayne (Donna) Silver, Rockland and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Percy; brother Arnold Silver; sister Helen Gee. Evelyn worked at Starr Beauty Salon in the Dartmouth Shopping Center for many years. She was a caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a great friend to many. Cremation has taken place under the care of C.F. Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. She will be buried with her husband in Mt. Hermon Cemetery, Dartmouth, Rev John K. Morrell of St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Halifax officiating at a later date. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation and no service by request. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Northwood Centre 5. Also a big thank you to Aunt Fran and Uncle Tommie Foxton, Halifax, who helped Mom and our family so much after the death of our father Percy.
