Obituary of Irene Frances Hiltz

Irene Frances Hiltz (Whynott) 84, of Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay, formerly of Martins River, NS, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013 in the home. Born in Wolfville, NS she was the daughter of the late Arthut Whynock and Gladys Jessop. Irene is survived by her son Leslie (Joy) Hiltz, daughter-in-law Sheryl Hiltz, sister Marion O'Hearn, all of Martins River. She is also survived by sister Betty (Gerald) Stillwell, Middleton, NS, brother Stanley (Margaret) Whynott, Oromocto, NB, grandchildren Ricky (Melissa) Hiltz, Martins River, Dennis (Beth) Hiltz, Hammonds Plains, NS, Christine Knickle (Larry), Maplewood, NS, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Reginald, son Wayne, brother Perry and infant daughter Faye. Irene will be greatly missed and never forgotten. She had a wonderful sence of humour and was full of fun. She deeply loved and cherished her family and enjoyed the times she spend with her children, grandchildren and great-grand children. A special Thank You to her extended family at the Mahone Nursing Home. Irene formed strong bonds with the staff who in turn respected and cared for her in a way that made her feel special, comfortable, safe and loved. Creamation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. No visitation. There will be a graveside commital on Tuesday, July 23rd at 11:00 am, Martin's River Cemetary, Martin's River, NS, officiated by Archdeacon Michael Mitchell.
