Myra Haidi Jodrey
It is with great sadness that we announce her sudden passing at home in New Germany, Lunenburg Co., at the age of 49 on Saturday, January 26, 2013. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of Florence Betty (Durling) Jodrey, New Germany and the late Glenwood Jodrey. Myra was a member of St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was a child care provider in her home for numerous children and worked tirelessly as an advocate for children’s health, safety and happiness. She was currently serving on the Home and School Association for New Germany Elementary School. Myra worked selflessly within her community always willing to help where ever she could for the benefit of others. She was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, branch 102, New Germany. In the past, Myra has worked for several businesses within New Germany. Surviving are her husband, Jeffery Russell; son, Dylan, at home; brothers, Blaine (Brenda) Jodrey, Watford; Larry (Angela) Jodrey, New Germany; Barry (Rhonda) Jodrey, Bridgewater; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; she was predeceased by her step father, Lester Crouse. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Friday, February 1 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Service 2 p.m., Saturday in Epworth United Church, New Germany. Rev. Juanita Barteaux officiating. Private family interment in St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Cemetery, New Germany. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Family Education Trust Fund.
