Earl Percy Levy
83, Pine Grove, Lunenburg Co., passed away on March 8, 2013 in the Q.E. II Health Sciences Centre – Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Demus and Beatrice (Hurshman) Levy. Earl worked for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Halifax for more than 35 years. Later, he became owner and operator of the Sea King Restaurant, Halifax until his retirement. Earl served as president and past president of the IOOF Oddfellows Lodge; Halifax. He was also a cub/scout leader in his younger years. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage. He loved animals and gardening. Surviving are his wife, Josephine (Sheppard); his daughter, Annette; son, Michael (Nancy); grandchildren, Jennifer (Dwayne), Jonathan (Emma), Justin Boutilier (Sabrina), Cody Boutilier; two great grandchildren; sister, Shirley; brothers, Kenny and Freeman. He was predeceased by his siblings, Beatrice, Eileen, Beulah, Perlis, Aubrey, Orland, Freddie, Lester and Everett. Visitation 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater and where funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday. Pastor Bethe Benjamin-Cameron officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Pine Grove. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, SHAID Animal Shelter.
