Obituary of Douglas Munro

G. Douglas Munro 81, of Green Bay, Lunenburg County, passed away January 7, 2002 in the Q E II Health Sciences Center. Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Macmillan) Munro. He was a veteran of the Second World War having served overseas in England. He was a member and past master of Acacia Lodge 39 and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24, both of which are in Bridgewater. He is survived by his wife, the former Sylvia Mossman; 2 sons, Brian (Brenda), Fox Point; Richard (Anna), Ottawa; a daughter, Renee (Philip) Warman, Lower Onslow; 2 grandchildren, Matthew and Carolyn, Ottawa. There will be no flowers or visitation by request. A Masonic service will be held 6:30pm Wednesday in Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater and from where funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, Rev. Mark Pretty officiating. Burial will follow in the Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Memorial donations may be made to the South Shore Shriners, N.S.
