Obituary of Ruby Evangeline Lohnes

Ruby Evangeline Lohnes 82 of West Northfield, Lunenburg Co. passed away Friday 18 January 2013 in Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in West Northfield, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Eva (Wentzell) Dauphinee. Ruby was a lifelong member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in West Northfield, where she was the organist for many years. She was also a member of St. Andrew’s Ladies Guild and the Northfield & District Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. In her early life she was a teacher at Cookville Schoolhouse, as well as other schools in the district. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charles; children Susan (Brian) Slauenwhite; Franklin (Michelle) Lohnes; Alice (Robbie) Fillmore; grandchildren Lori (Dwayne) Acker, Donna Slauenwhite (Shawn Deyotte), Christian and Joshua Emino; great grandchildren Tyler, Hailey and Bodhi Deyotte; brother Leigh (Beulah) Dauphinee and half sister Pauline (late Lester) Veinotte. Visitation will be held 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Sunday 20 January in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday 21 January in St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, West Northfield, Rev. Juanita Barteaux officiating, assisted by Rev. Catherine Robar. A private family interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, West Northfield. Family flowers only, please. Memorial donation in Ruby’s memory may be made to the South Shore Regional Hospital Foundation, the ALC Unit of Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital or a charity of choice.
