Phyllis May Meisner
91, New Germany, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Phyllis was a very quiet loving wife and mother and in the early years of her marriage was totally involved in caring for her family. She saw good in everyone and never looked for or even said a word against anyone. In her retirement she found great joy in their yearly drives to Florida for many winters. She also traveled to many parts of the USA, Europe and cross Canada several times. She also found much joy in knitting baby bonnets, which she donated to hospitals, and word puzzles which she was doing just moments before her passing. Born in Watford, she was a daughter of the late Theophilus and Edna (Whynot) Jodrey; Surviving are her loving husband of 72 years, Atwood Churchill Meisner; daughter, Marilyn Hibbs (Charlie), Nictaux Falls; son, Todd (Peggy) Meisner, New Germany; grandchildren, Benjamin, Bridget, Nicole, Tanya, Michael, Andrew, Rachel; 16 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; sister, Minnie Veinot, Winnipeg; several nieces and nephews; her caregiver, Carolyn Crouse. She was predeceased by daughter, Cathy Bernice Meisner; brothers, Russell, Clarence, Lorraine, Philip, Bruce. Visitation 7-9 p.m., Thursday, January 2 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2014 in Trinity Lutheran Church, New Germany. Rev. David Whynot officiating. A private family burial to follow in the church cemetery.
