Obituary of Wiliam Munro

William "Bill" Lendel Munro 65, of Bridgewater, passed away July 3, 2002 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Dartmouth, he was the son of the late Bernard and Bernice (Swim) Munroe. He attended Lockeport Regional High School. After graduating, he attended the RCMP Training Academy in Regina. He served in the RCMP for 35.5 years having been station in various locations in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the RCMP Veterans Association; Order of the Eastern Star; South Shore Shrine Club; LaHave River Yacht Club; Osprey Ridge Golf Club; LaHave Chapter 17; Antiquity Preceptory and Acacia Lodge 39. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Bowering) (Snow); son, James (Adelia), Acton, Ontario; daughters, Deborah (Mark) Dobson, Carlton Place, Ontario; Dawn Munroe, Dartmouth; stepson, Dion (Sherry) Snow, Mount Pearl, Newfoundland; step daughter, Carol (Russell) Snow-McWilliam, Pencaitland, Scotland; sister, Rosalie (Richard) Smith, East Jordan; 5 grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater where a Masonic Lodge Service will be held 6:15pm. Funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday in the Bridgewater United Church, Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. Burial will follow in the Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to the IWK-Grace Hospital, Halifax, N. S. Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Shriners Children’s Hospital. www.sweenysfuneralhome.com.
