Obituary of Muriel Ceretha MacKay

Muriel Ceretha MacKay 91, Stanley Section, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Monday, October 28, 2013 in Ryan Hall Nursing Home, Bridgewater, where she had been residing. Born in Waterloo, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Gladys (Zwicker) Wyle. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her daughters, Gladys (Brian) Weagle , Porters Lake; Gail (Bill) Cross, New Canada; sons, Garnet (Wendy) MacKay, Whitby, Ont; Gary (Dianne) MacKay, Camperdown; Garth (Teresa) MacKay, New Canada; Graham (Wendy) MacKay, New Canada; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandsons, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Laurie Freeman MacKay in 2011; sisters, Pauline Veinotte, Kathleen Milbury, Merna Hirtle; brother, Lyman Wile. Visitation, 5 – 7 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2013 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater and where funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, November 2, Rev. Dr. Brian MacArthur officiating. A private family burial will follow in the Lakeside Cemetery, New Canada. Memorial donations in Muriel’s memory may be made the IWK Children’s Hospital, Halifax or charity of choice.
