Obituary of Hollis Eugene Rafuse

Hollis Eugene Rafuse 89, Pinehurst, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 in Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany, where he had been residing. Born in Parkdale, he was a son of the late Richmond and Angie (Tupper) Rafuse. He was a member in training with the Royal Canadian Army in preparation for overseas deployment when the war ended. Hollis was a past employee of Lunenburg Foundry and was a school bus driver until his retirement. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Marguerite (Arenburg) (Feener) Rafuse, New Germany; step daughters, Virginia (Robert) Joudrey, Wentzell Lake; Cathy (Terry) Spidle, Pinehurst; sisters, Evangeline MacLeod, Windsor; Ardath Langille, Bedford; brother, John (Rosemary) Rafuse, New Germany; grandchildren, Annette Joudrey (Ryan Gatz), Jeanette (Darcy Truen) Joudrey, Candace (John) Swain, Scott Spidle; great grandchildren, Abigail Swain, Alexa Swain, Riley Spidle; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Spidle. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Service 2 p.m., Friday, January 25, 2013 in Parkdale – Maplewood Emmanuel Baptist Church, Parkdale. Pastor Sam Jess officiating.
