Obituary of Edgar Richards

Edgar Richards 87 of Wileville passed away peacefully Friday May 10th at Hillside Pines Home for Special Care Bridgewater. Born at Bush Island, he was a son of the late Freeman and Violet (Seaboyer) Richards. Edgar worked for Nova Scotia Power as a mechanic over the years. Surviving is his wife Gloria, Wileville; Son William “Bill” Richards, Bathurst NB; Step-sons, David (Amy) Hirtle, Idaho USA; Samuel (Stephanie) Hirtle, Yakima Washington State, USA. Brothers, Erwin, Liverpool; Sinclair (Ethel), Bridgewater; Havelock (Dorothy) Brooklyn; and Graham (Joyce), West Dublin. Several Grandchildren, one great grandchild, many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother Norris in infancy, sister in-law Ella, a niece Jessica Richards. Visitation will be held from 7-9pm on Tuesday May 14th at Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday May 15th also at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, with Rev. Laurence Mawhinney officiating. Burial will follow in the Peaceful Hill Cemetery, West Dublin. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
