Obituary of Theresa Mary Swift

Theresa Mary Swift 69, Bridgewater, passed away suddenly at home with family nearby on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. She was raised and educated in Dartmouth, NS. She ran a successful Hairdressing Salon in Halifax for most of her working life. She retired to the South Shore in 1985. In 2001 Theresa became an active volunteer and employee at the local animal shelter (S.H.A.I.D) doing what she loved to do, caring for animals in need. This included fostering lots of cats, and kittens in her home when around the clock attention was required for their survival. This love was second only to her love and devotion to her family. In 2010 she was diagnosed with lung cancer which she battled to the end. Theresa is survived by her daughter Deborah-Lynn Swift, her grandsons Ronald Lamb (Vicky Llewellyn), Richard “Rick” Lamb. She was predeceased by her mother Adeline Richards; father Joseph Power, brother Frederick Richards, son Ronald Swift and Daughter Theresa (Terri) Swift. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 18 from 7-9pm, and where funeral service will be held at 3pm Friday both in Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater, with Rev. Patrick Morris officiating.
