Obituary of Llewellyn Edgar Walters

Llewellyn Edgar Walters It is with deepest sadness, that we the family of Llewellyn Edgar Walters, 82 of Pinehurst, announce his peaceful passing and journey home on April 3, 2013 at Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany, where he had been residing. Born in Middle LaHave, June 11, 1930, he was the son of the late Edgar Simon and Maisie Verne (Lohnes) Walters. As a young man he worked on the family farm until he decided to pursue a career in radio and TV and received his diploma as a radio and TV technician from the University of Washington in 1953. He worked for 38 years in this field with the last 18 years as his own business until his retirement in 1991. He was an avid gardener and loved spending time with his flowers and his beloved cat “Snookums”, also taking trips to anywhere there was water. He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 55 years, Marjorie (Ritcey), Pinehurst; sons, David (Caroline), Barss Corner; Dwight (Edie), Glenevis, Ab; Rex (Ann Marie), Pinehurst. Grandchildren, Ian (Stephanie), Aylesford; Cassandra (Brendon), Edmonton, Ab.; Anthony (Jennifer), Bedford; Kimberly (Brandon), Pinehurst; a great grandson, Kohl, Aylesford; step grandchildren, Troy and Cherie, Alb; step great grandchildren, Jared, Bryce and Sydney, all of Alb; sister, Grace, USA; niece, Maxine, Sackville. Extended family, Darlene Rafuse, Middleton; Shirley Wilkie, Rhodes Corner; Brittany and Brandon Jenkins, Barss Corner; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Helena, Verne, Louise, Katherine; brothers, Frederick and Junior in infancy. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2013 in Baker Settlement Cemetery, Baker Settlement. Rev. Juanita Barteaux officiating. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation of Canada. Special thanks to Dr. Edmonds and the staff of Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany, for the love and care they gave “Lew” while he was a resident there.
