Obituary of Weldon Watson Whynot

Weldon Watson Whynot Age 82, died peacefully at Northwood, in Halifax on August 14. He was the son of the late Andrew Whynot and Myrtle Johnson (Weagle). Weldon grew up in Danesville and spent most of his formative years with his late stepdad Stanley Johnson. He spent many years as a skilled heavy machine operator with Aberdeen Paving and then with the Department of Highways. Weldon will be remembered for his many stories, his participation in a country band later in life, and for always being on the go. He is survived by his dear friend Shirley; sons Kevin (Leslie), Regina, SK, and Tim (Lorraine), Enfield; grandchildren, Kate, Mylène, Bridget, and Thomas. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary (Eye) and son Gary. Visitation will be held on Sunday 18 August from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Funeral service will be held in 11:00 am Monday 19 August in Middlewood United Church, 18440 Highway 103, Middlewood; burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Family flowers only, please. Memorial donations in Weldon’s memory may be made to the Middlewood United Church, the Alzheimer’s Society or the charity of choice.
