Obituary of Leon Earl Bruhm

Leon Earl Bruhm 102, Cookville, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014 in Hillside Pines Nursing Home, Bridgewater, where he had been residing. Born in Cookville, he was a son of the late Maurice James and Ida May (Rhodenizer) Bruhm. During his lifetime he farmed, was a woodsman and apple picker in the US and Annapolis Valley; later he was a surveyors assistant with Neif Joseph. A bachelor by choice, he lived most of his life until he was 90 on the Howard Rhodenizer farm in Cookville. Surviving are brothers, Wilfred, Toronto; Charles and Chester both of Bridgewater; sisters, Florence Shaw, Cole Harbour; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Lawrence, Vernon, Harold and Henry; sisters, Margaret, Pearl and Hilda. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Funeral service 2 p.m., Monday, May 12, 2014 in St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, West Northfield. Rev. Willis Ott officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church or Maple Grove Cemetery.
