Obituary of Bruce Veinot
Bruce Ainslie Veinot
80 New Germany passed away on Thursday Oct 4th after a lengthy illness. Born in New Germany on May 6th 1927, he was the only son of Willis and Gertrude (Arenburg ) Veinot. In his early years Bruce excelled in school with high academics but like many young men of the time, he went to work at the Morgan Falls Pulp Mill New Germany. In 1962 he met business man Eldon H Wynn and accepted a position at Fielding and Wynn Limited where his well known face and kind disposition graced the community of New Germany until his retirement in 1989. Bruce was an active outdoors man and loved the beautiful scenery of Lunenburg County and could often been seen driving his tractor to his Billy Place farm in Simpson's Corner. He was a member of Saint John's In the Wilderness Anglican Church New Germany where he served as past Church and Parish Treasurer. A devoted fireman, Bruce served in the New Germany Fire Dept over 20 years retiring as Captain of Pumper 4. He is a current member of the I.O.O.F New Germany Pine Grove Branch 111 where he was know for his love of playing cards and socializing with friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Helen; only son Glen and his wife Anne-Marie Richard; and precious granddaughter Nikita. Visitation will be Friday Oct 5th between 7 -9 pm Sweeny's Funeral Home Route 10 New Germany. Funeral service will be at Saint John's in the Wilderness Anglican Church New Germany 3 pm Saturday October 6th. Rev Catherine Robar officiating.
