Obituary of Eva June Christian

Eva June Christian Age 91, of Dayspring passed away peacefully on September 11, 2014 at the South Shore Regional Hospital. Born on June 3, 1923 in the fishing village of Whitehead, Guysborough County, she was the daughter of Cecelia Florence (Armsworthy) and Albert Edward Uloth. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Clarence George Christian; brother William Thomas Uloth and niece Heather Jean (Uloth) McCurdy. June is survived by her son Ronald Christian, Birch Cove (HRM); daughter Heather (Ardan) Stevenson, Dayspring; grandchildren Hayley (Ian) Daniels, Halifax; Nathan Christian, Birch Cove (HRM); great-grandson, Grayson Daniels. She enjoyed the company of relatives, friends and neighbours, telling them many stories about growing up in a fishing village during the Depression and her work with a publishing company in the 1940’s which took her across Canada. In later years, she worked with the Federal Government where her circle of friends increased. Her roast beef dinners were legendary among those who shared them. A Memorial service will take place 1:00 P.M., Saturday September 27 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater with Rev. Frances Boutilier officiating. A reception will follow at the Oakhill and District Fire Hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be mad to the Guysborough County Court House Museum, South Shore Health Palliative Care or a charity of your choice.
