Obituary of Eleanor Conrad

Eleanor Conrad (Aulenback) 73 of Bridgewater passed away suddenly March 02 2014 at home. She was the daughter of the late Frederic and Fern (Weagle) Aulenback. Eleanor was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed singing and whistling while playing to all sorts of music. Eleanor always enjoyed camping throughout the Maritimes. She was a member of the Blue Grass Association in New Canada, Lunenburg Co, and enjoyed playing her omnichord. Eleanor enjoyed swinging on their swing watching their cat “Precious” around the yard. Whenever Eleanor walked into the room the room always became brighter with her smile. You would always see her out in her flower and vegetable gardens around the house. Eleanor leaves to mourn her husband Edward, Bridgewater; daughters Elaine Conrad, Bridgewater; April (Brian) Mason, Lunenburg; Nora (Desmond) Manning, Dartmouth; sons Arthur Eaton; Mark (Denise) Eaton, all of Bridgewater. Sister Brenda (Douglas) Himmelman, Bridgewater. Grand children, Erin Eaton, Bridgewater; Alexandra Eaton, Bridgewater; William Dyer, Chester; Dean Eaton, Bridgewater; Alicia and Tyler Mason both of Lunenburg. Several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Eleanor was predeceased by two brothers Frederic and Reynolds Aulenback .. Funeral service will be 2pm Wednesday March 5 in the Bridgewater United Church, Bridgewater, Rev. Eleanor Scarlett officiating. Visitation will be from 7-9pm Tuesday March 4 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Private burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Bridgewater United Church, or a charity of choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater.
