Obituary of Edith Pollard

Edith Myrta Pollard, R.N. Edith Myrta Pollard, R.N. (nee Smith) left to play piano in a better place on July 12, 2002. Edith was born to Ada (Brown) and Leslie Smith in Springhill Nova Scotia, on a snowy February 22, 1923. As a legacy to her life (and that of her husband, Harold, who predeceased her in 1976), she leaves her kids, Brian (Irene) in Sherwood P.E.I.; Ruth (David) in Toronto, Ontario; Debbie (Don) in Mahone Bay, N.S.; and Andy (Claire) in San Jose, California, to celebrate the wonderful gifts that she gave them. Sadly her eldest daughter, Lynne, left our earth only two months prior. Twelve grandchildren, Adam, Ryan, Matthew, Danial, Laurie, Julie, Debbie, Rob, Amy, Andrew, Peter and Katie, as well as three great-grandchildren, will share her spirit through their own lives. Her sister, Verna Pipes, and brother, Ralph Smith, survive Edith in Nova Scotia, as does her dear friend, Edith Rosenow, in Moncton, N.B. Numerous friends and relatives throughout the Maritimes should sing a a little song in Edith's honour or better still join us on Monday, July 15, at 3 p.m. for a memorial service at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, 28 Woolridge Drive, Riverview, N.B. Reception to follow. Never mind the flowers, instead, please encourage the terrific people at the South Shore Regional Hospital with a donation to the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore, P.O. Box 492, Bridgewater, N.S. B4V 2X6. Arrangements in care of Sweeny's Funeral Home in Bridgewater, N.S.
